What We do?

We act as a fiduciary for the absentee agricultural investor. By definition, the fiduciary duty is the highest standard of care. The fiduciary relationship is highlighted by good faith, loyalty and trust. We safeguard the absentee investor against the plethora of service providers and vendors, insuring the receipt of total value from the farm investment.

Managing agricultural assets requires more than just the “Farmers” knowledge. Finance, chemistry, labour relations and many other skills are needed to effectively yield the maximum return from the land. With increasing labour rates, migrant labour issues and pesticide safety concerns, Meddini brings together the team of professionals necessary to provide the complete management package.

Meddini acts as asset managers that have built their investment strategies on unique insights in the way macro sustainability.

Each asset manager concentrates on a unique investment strategy in a sector impacted by resource constraint, increasing global consumption and sustainability. The emerging global challenges of population growth, changing global demographics, shifts in consumption patterns and resource demands will drive major economic dislocation in almost every one of the basic industries in the next decade. These shifts present opportunities to create value. There will be winners and losers across every asset class, across every geography.

We at Meddini Nisarg have embarked on a green mission to grow plantations which are sturdy and withstand vagaries of nature and at the same time give handsome returns. The crops have been chosen after extensive surveys and deliberations with experts from the field of agriculture. The crops not only that gives returns, but also serves the society in a big way by sequestrating more carbon dioxide that any other plants. Meddini is planting Bananas and Bamboo’s at project Nisarg. The best tissue culture varieties are being used for plantation.

According to figures released by NABARD and "National Bamboo Mission" the world bamboo trade stood at Rs. 50,000/- crores in the year 2001 and is slated to grow to Rs.100,00/- crores by 2015. India's share of the world export market is 4.5% and that of China is about 50%.

The execution of plantation has to be undertaken according to the planting season and as such there are specific periods prescribed when plantations can be done and the best times for planting are the starting of monsoon or at the end of the monsoon season as planting in this season gives you the best desired results, which results in healthier plants and higher yields. The plantation shall be undertaken under the guidance of the panel experts and the best practices shall be adhered to for best results.

Agro-Forestry is eco sensitive, which literally means that the health and growth of the plantations is dependant to a certain level on the climatic condition and the other factor that can affect the yield is decease that affects the productivity.

In case of a dry drought we can overcome the situation as our site has been chosen for ample ground water supply, which we can draw even if there is no rainfall and the Government doesn't let us draw water from the adjoining dam, the ground water level in this area is good and this due to the numerous dams in the periphery of this land. In case of a wet drought, the production falls down, but in case of both the plantation that we are planting are water loving plants and bamboos are very sturdy and can withstand 30 - 300 inches of rain. The company also shall get the plantations insured against such unforeseen calamities.

The company shall sign a Lease agreement with the farm investor, which shall legally bind the company towards the promises made for the upkeep, growth and marketing of the yields. The company on its part shall from time to time inform the farm investor the progress of the plantation. The company has acquired adequate land after due diligence and verification of property titles and the company as such holds contracts of sale with the farmers. The company shall ct as a consenting party between the farmer and the farm investor for smooth transition of sale deeds. During the tenure of the lease period the farm investor can exit by transferring the lease to the new owner.

The company shall always keep the farm investor well informed about the progress of the plantation, as to the date for plantation, the growth of the plantation and the harvesting dates. The information can be accessed from the website or by mailers from the company.

The company shall provide a production audit to the farm investor for every harvesting season and this shall be certified by an independent authority to maintain transparency.

The Lease agreement shall have sections incorporated wherein the ownership remains with the farm investor and the company gets the right of managing the cultivation / plantation, harvesting the yield, marketing the yield and distributing the profit earned to the farm investor. The MOU / lease shall also specify that the company shall pay the lease rent to the farm investor and profits on the yield at the end of each harvest.

The company by way of the Lease agreement shall be signing the same for an initial period of 10 years which can again be renewed for a further period of 10 years. In case the farm investor wants to terminate the lease after the 10 year period then the company shall hand over the farm unit/s to the farm investor along with the plantation that is standing on the farm plot of the investor.
